ДОСЛІДЖЕННЯ ГОНАДОТОКСИЧНОСТІ ТА ЕМБРІОТОКСИЧНОСТІ КРЕМУ З НАНОЧАСТИНКАМИ ЦЕРІЮ ДІОКСИДУ

Abstract
UV exposure poses the risk of sunburns, skin aging, melanoma and skin cancers. Sunscreens are the photoprotective agents which prevent harmful effects of UV exposure. Among those the attention is driven towards the creams with cerium dioxide nanoparticles (CDN) nowadays. They express potent photoprotective action combined with an antioxidant effect. The aim of this article was to study the gonadal toxicity and embriotoxicity of the cream with CDN in the setting of chronic cutaneous application in rats. The substance of CDN 6–15 nm in size was synthesized by TOV ‘NanoMedTech’, while the formulation was developed under the supervision of professor M. O. Liapunov. The cream with CDN in the doses of 0.1, 0.5, and 1.0 g/kg showed no gonadal toxicity and embriotoxicity effects. This was proven by the absence of changes in functional, macroscopic, and morphometric indices of spermatogenesis, as well as markers of maternal and fetal toxicity.
