DUKHNOVYCH IN UKRAINIAN AND RUSSIAN HISTORIOGRAPHY DURING AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN PERIOD

Abstract
The article is devoted to the figure of O. Dukhnovych in the evaluation of Ukrainian and Russian scholars and publicists, which is not sufficiently studied in the historical-pedagogical literature. A practical review of the historiographical works of scientists during the period from the middle of the 19th century till the begin- ning of the First World War was analyzed, in the time when the Ukrainian Transcarpathia was under the author- ity of Austro-Hungarian monarchy; the established ideologues of that period in historiography are reviewed. O. Dukhnovych’s place and role in the cultural and socio-political life of Transcarpathia is clarified.
