Dynamic Modelling and Aerodynamic Identification of the 74 mm Modified Mortar Bomb

Abstract

The subject of the research is constituted by the mortar bomb of the calibre 74 mm. The research was executed upon the available copy of the bomb. What has been examined was the distribution of masses, inertia moments were determined with the application of the experimental method researched when connected to the mortar bomb and within the wind tunnel of the Aerodynamic Workshop of the Institute of Aviation and Applied Mechanics of the Warsaw University of Technology as well as all of the aerodynamic characteristics were determined. The taken over physical model was developed with the mathematical model which allows for the full simulation as well as numerical calculations of the dynamics of the 74 mm mortar bomb.
