Dynamic Response of Tower Cranes Under Seismic Actions. Case Study
Journal Title: Romanian Journal of Acoustics and Vibration - Year 2011, Vol 8, Issue 2
Abstract
The dynamic model of tower cranes has been analysed and presented by authors in two other conferences as well as his mathematical model of the differential equations of movement, considering the tower cranes anchored on the buildings. However, this paper presents the analytical solution for sinusoidal seismic actions in the case of the tower cranes without anchors. The solution is obtained for the MTO-180 tower crane. The diagrams of the absolute and relative displacements, velocities and accelerations are obtained and represented graphically by means of MATHCAD programme.

The Use of the Friction Pendulum Bearings for Isolation of the Built Environment
Base isolation systems have become a significant element of a structural system to enhance reliability during an earthquake. One type of base isolation system is Friction Pendulum Bearings in which the superstructure is...
Determination of Damping Coefficient for Lateral Displacement in Case of Two Console Rotors in Air and Water
The paper is dedicated to some original experimental researches aiming to determine the damping coefficient for lateral displacement c in case of two rotors in console. We have described the experimental installation, th...
About the Influence of Temperature Changes on the Natural Frequencies of Clamped-Clamped Euler-Bernoulli Beams
In this paper a beam subjected to axial forces induced by temperature changes has been analyzed, in order to highlight the effect of this parameter on the structures natural frequencies. The modal analysis, performed by...
Some Aspects Regarding the Transition from Beam to Plate Behavior of Vibrating Structures
The paper introduces a new vision about the vibrational behavior of beams and plates, aiming to show the correlation between vibration modes which nowadays are considered of different types. An analysis was performed by...
Dynamic Isolation in Case of an Elastic Supported Viaduct
The dynamic modeling, aims to analyze the dynamic behaviour of the viaduct to external actions from the road traffic and / or seismic movements. The analytical expressions of pulsation, frequency and of the eigenvectors...
