He analysed the example of Zbigniew Mieczkowski, a London citizen, a descendant of Polish landowners, a soldier of general Maczek First Armoured Division, a writer, publicist, philanthropist and an immigration activist. The article comprises a discussion on more significant book publications, including 'The Horizon of Memories' which was first published in Warsaw and London in 2001 and then updated in 2013. The book makes the readers long for the lost paradise and makes them want to eradicate it from the shadows of oblivion and the times of old legends. The author also analyses Mieczkowski's more important press articles published both in the Polish and immigration press. He emphasizes Mieczkowski” independent viewpoints and his courage in expressing unique opinions which are frequently contrary to the ones accepted by the management of the Polish immigration in London. What is especially valuable for the young generation of readers is Mieczkowski's thorough, clear-sighted observations presented by an eyewitness and a participant of the war and post war events. The observations make Mieczkowski's books and press articles historically valuable
