EDUCATION AS A POWERFUL INSTRUMENT FOR THE SURVIVAL OF HUMANITY IN THE FUTURE: KEY OBJECTIVES AND THEIR PECULIARITIES

Abstract

The author of the article gives characteristics to the objectives of the new time education on the basis of analysis of the works of modern scientists-philosophers and educators. Special attention is paid to the formation of spiritual and cultural values of education as one of the most important objectives of the new time education. The author of the article underlines that the inclusion of the spiritual and cultural value component in the educational process will not only increase the level of spiritual, moral individual culture of its participants, but will also significantly enrich their inner spiritual experience, and will lead to the formation of person-significant moral-oriented priorities in education in them, and will promote the implementation of their most complete self-realization in all the spheres of life in accordance with the laws of Truth, Good and Beauty Special attention is paid to the investigation of education as one of the most effective ways of formation of a person as a cultural personality (G. Shevchenko), the study of the value and sense sphere of the future specialist’s personality, whose main components determine the strategy of the each person’s future life (T. Antonenko) and the features of a new era, on the verge of which the modern world is now, namely, the Age of Culture and the need of formation of a cultural personality of human of the future (P. Shafer). It is underlined that in the present-day reality the education can become a powerful, effective instrument for the survival of humanity in the future subject to the fulfillment of the new time objectives. At the same time, inclusion in the educational process of the spiritual and cultural value component, which will enable to form a "human with a human face", a spiritual and cultural, creative, broad-minded, and highly educated personality appears to be the vital need of nowadays.
