Efektifitas pendidikan kesehatan dengan metode ekspositori tentang meal planning terhadap pola makan pasien dm tipe 2

Abstract
Patients with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) have a risk of complications and death. However, management of patients with type II DM has not been implemented optimally and integratedly. Expository health education method consists of three stages, namely the explanation of the material, question and answer and assignment of meal planning can be sought to overcome the case of DM from his diet. This study aims to determine the effect of expository health education about meal planning on dietary patterns of patients with type II diabetes. The research design uses quasy experiments with non equivalent control group design. The population of Type II DM patients is 210 people. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling. Samples were divided into treatment groups and control groups with the number of each of the 20 people. Data collection was done in Boro Public Health Center Kecamatan Selorejo by identifying respondents and giving compliance questionnaires. The data performed using the Wilcoxon signed rank test. The results of the study in the treatment group showed that there was an effect of health education with the expository method of meal planning in Type 2 DM patients with a p-value of 0,000. The results of the Mann Whitney test showed that there was a difference between the treatment group and the control group with a p-value of = 0,000. The expository method of meal planning affects the diet of type II DM patients. Health workers are encouraged to increase expository health education activities for people with type II diabetes to improve their diet.
