Effect of Different Nitrogen Levels on The Yield and Some Yield Characteristics of Flax (Linum usitatissimum)
Journal Title: ISPEC Journal of Agricultural Sciences - Year 2023, Vol 7, Issue 2
Abstract
This research was carried out to determine the effects of different nitrogen levels on yield and some yield characteristics of flax (Linum usitatissimum). Six different nitrogen levels (0, 40, 80, 120, 160 and 200 N kg ha-1) were tested in the study. Some properties were measured such as plant height (cm), technical stem length (cm), number of branches (per plant-1), number of capsules (per plant-1), biological and grain yield (g pot-1) in the study. Results showed that nitrogen doses had significant effects on all tested properties except, thousand-grain weight, number of grain per capsule and plant height. It was determined that the most suitable nitrogen dose in terms of grain yield was 160 kg ha-1.
