Abstract

The purpose of study was to investigate the effect of flexibility and agility training on selected physical fitness variables of Arba Minch town young Ethiopia U-16 male football project players. For this study experimental design and random sampling technique was used. Participants engaged in 12 consecutive weeks with frequency of 3 days per week. Pre and post tests were conducted to measure sit and reach and Illinois tests. To determine the difference between pre training and post training mean value, the collected data was analyzed by using statistical package for social science (SPSS), software version 23. Paired-Samples T test was used to compare the mean difference between pre and post-tests. The level of significance was set at ≤0.05%. After giving 12 weeks continuous training, the researchers compared the control and experimental group of sit and reach and Illinois test mean value, experimental group indicated significant change rather than control group. This result indicates that significant change was observed in intervening group than control group due to the participants were engaged in. The finding of this investigation indicated that effective physical fitness training program has positive effect on improvement of physical performance of football players.
