Journal Title: Journal of Medical Science And clinical Research - Year 2017, Vol 5, Issue 4
Abstract
Background: Heel pain is one of the most common pain observed in young adults. Heel pain can cause discomfort in performing day to day activities as there is complete weight bearing on ankle joint. M2T blade helps in releasing adherent fascia which in turn helps relieving pain. Materials and Methods: 15 subjects with acute heel pain between the age group of 18 – 40 years were assessed from KLE University’s Campus, Belagavi, Karnataka. Subjects were assessed and were treated using M2T blade. Foot Function Index was the outcome measure used for pain assessment and pre and post readings were recorded. Result: The present study showed 48.7% (p<0.001) reduction in heel pain intensity according to pre and post Foot Function Index score. Conclusion: M2T blade is effective in reducing heel pain and increase functional activity of the foot immediately after the treatment
