Effect of Temperature on Caudal regeneration of Earthworm, Eisenia fetida.
Journal Title: International Journal of Biological Innovations - Year 2021, Vol 3, Issue 2
Abstract
Earthworms are renowned for their ability to regenerate lost parts. The groups of earthworm, Eisenia fetida were kept in different temperatures like 200C, 250C, 300C and 350C and their regenerating efficiency was examined. After 30 days, authors found 44.44%, 66.66%, 66.00% and 50.00% regenerating efficiency respectively with the control group as 70.00%. The earthworms exposed to low (200C) and high (350C) temperatures, showed decreased rate of caudal regeneration as compared to other experimental and control groups.
