Effects of ISO 22000 Food Safety Certification on Customer and Employee Satisfaction in Turkish Resort Hotels

Abstract
This study aims to find out the effects of ISO 22000 food safety management certification on customer and employee satisfaction in Turkish resort hotels. A questionnaire survey is used to collect data from 241 resort hotels. The variation between the ISO 22000 certified and non-22000 certified resort hotels is determined by t-test in order to test the two hypotheses. The findings show a significant relationship between the ISO 22000 food safety certification and customer satisfaction, but a negative one. However, the study does not show any significant relationship between the ISO 22000 food safety certification and employee satisfaction. Finally, this study provides theoretical and practical implications with suggestions for potential future studies.
