Efficacy and safety of hands and skin cleaning and disinfection

Abstract
Human skin is a barrier against the ingress of external factors. Frequent and prolonged use of aggressive detergents and disinfectants can cause skin damage and even its illness. The selected anionic surfactants, amphoteric and nonionic are recognized to be secure detergent substances. However, among antiseptic active substances, ethanol and isopropanol should be mentioned. Parabens, triclosan and chlorhexidine compounds are controversial among users and not recommend. However, due to the widespread use of the above mentioned active substances, the ingredients of the purchased preparations should be carefully analyzed.
