Abstract
The research of theoretical foundations of the functioning of international payment systems was conducted. The description of the elements of payment systems is given, the analysis and estimation of efficiency of international payment systems in the modern conditions are carried out. The problems and directions of improvement of payment systems in the conditions of modern information technologies are considered.
