Efficient Lossless Colour Image Compression Using Run Length Encoding and Special Character Replacement
Journal Title: International Journal on Computer Science and Engineering - Year 2011, Vol 3, Issue 7
Abstract
Image compression, in the present context of heavy network traffic, is going through major research and development. The lossless compression techniques, presently in practise, follow three basic paradigms – character repetition removal, frequency measurement-encoding and dictionary maintenance. In the proposed method, the character repetition removal and dictionary maintenance concepts were incorporated together. The output encoded file had yielded comparably better results than standard lossless image compression techniques. The proposed method had been tested on a series of continuous and discreet tone standard test images.

Output Regulation of the Arneodo Chaotic System
This paper solves the problem of regulating the output of the Arneodo chaotic system (1981), which is one of the paradigms of chaotic dynamical systems. Explicitly, using the state feedback control laws, the output of th...
Web Browser Personalisation Design of a Client Side Web-page Access Prediction Mechanism
Web usage prediction has become a widely addressed topic with the huge proliferation of World Wide Web and computers. Most of the work done in this area of research is centered around prediction of what links the user is...
APPLYING DYNAMIC DEPENDENCY INJECTION TOWARDS TEST CASE REDUCTION ON DISTRUBUTED SPATIAL DATA MANAGEMENT
The transfer and retrieval of spatial data is often looked as a laborious and time consuming one, especially if the participating entities are geographically separated. With the advent of modern cutting edge technologies...
Handwritten Devanagari Word Recognition: A Curvelet Transform Based Approach
This paper presents a new offline handwritten Devanagari word recognition system. Though Devanagari is the script for Hindi, which is the official language of India, its character and word recognition pose great challeng...
ROBOT NAVIGATION USING IMAGE PROCESSING AND ISOLATED WORD RECOGNITION
In this paper, a practical implementation of image processing and isolated word recognition has been explained. A modeled vehicle has been driven autonomously on the road and can navigate on a road on its own, stop at ze...
