Abstract
(Correlations between Health Industry Innovations: Possibilites of Mobile and Sensor Technology in Elderly Care) Signifi cant technological changes are going on in elderly care that point beyond the mere importance of medical technology and create new avenues in the fi eld of social sciences as well. The interdisciplinary trajectories of age studies and medical humanities advance over the previous paradigm of gerontology by pointing out the necessity of redefi ning the concept of ageing in the light of technological and social changes in the context of being a biological process mediated through cultural understanding. This paper argues that the changes that occur alongside the appearance of mobile medical technology solutions released in an ever increasing number and their social outcomes aff ecting the elderly may provide solid answers to persisting problems of elderly care today.
