El impacto de la formación de hábitos sobre los programas sociales para reducir la pobreza en Perú

Journal Title: REVISTA DE ANÁLISIS ECONÓMICO Y FINANCIERO - Year 2018, Vol 1, Issue 1

Abstract

Consumption habits have a great impact on the consumption of the low-income population. In fact, the long-term Average Propensity to Consume (PCP) is less than 1 for non-poor people, but close to 1 for poor people. This means that consumption habits are different by social strata. Given this, will the patterns change in the face of economic crises? Or, will they remain that way over time? Apparently they would not change since consumption habits are strongly rooted in customs. A dynamic general equilibrium model is proposed where the impact of habits are captured with the variable (ϕ) so that the path of consumption over time would not be influenced by supply shocks, so the distorted effects should be distributed, more persistently over time.
