Electrospinning of Cross-Linked Magnetic Chitosan Nanofibers for Protein Release
Journal Title: AAPS PharmSciTech - Year 2015, Vol 16, Issue 6
Abstract
Iron(III) chloride hexahydrate (FeCl3.6H2O), (FeCl2·4H2O) was purchased from Merck Co. Medium molecular weight chitosan (CTS, 75 and 85% deacetylated), bovine serum albumin (BSA), and acetic acid (TFA, _98%) were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich Co. The polyvinyl alcohol (PVA Z-410, Japan Synthetic Chemical Co.) had a degree of deacetylation of 97.0 ± 0.5% and a MW of 1.2 × 105 gmol−1.

Application of Physiologically Based Absorption Modeling to Formulation Development of a Low Solubility, Low Permeability Weak Base: Mechanistic Investigation of Food Effect
Physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling has been broadly used to facilitate drug development, hereby we developed a PBPK model to systematically investigate the underlying mechanisms of the observed positiv...
A Gastrointestinal Transit Study on Amphotericin B-Loaded Solid Lipid Nanoparticles in Rats
The gastrointestinal (GI) transit behavior of and absorption from an amphotericin B (AmB) solid lipid nanoformulation (SLN) in rats was investigated. We aimed to estimate the gastric emptying time (GET) and cecal arrival...
Influence of Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose on Metronidazole Crystallinity in Spray-Congealed Polyethylene Glycol Microparticles and Its Impact with Various Additives on Metronidazole Release
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a hydrophilic polymer, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), on the crystallinity and drug release of metronidazole (MNZ) in spray-congealed polyethylene glycol...
Colon-Targeted Oral Drug Delivery Systems: Design Trends and Approaches
Colon-specific drug delivery systems (CDDS) are desirable for the treatment of a range of local diseases such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic pancreatitis, and colonic ca...
Stability Evaluation of Ivermectin-Loaded Biodegradable Microspheres
A stability study was performed on ivermectin (IVM)-loaded biodegradable microparticles intended for injection in dogs. The rational was to evaluate the performances upon irradiation of a drug, such as IVM, with a few cr...
