Employee Motivation & Encouraging Retention in the Workplace: A Critical Study

Abstract

Human Resource Management (HRM) is a planned and sound approach to the most valued assets of management. The employees put their effort individually and collectively with more commitment and loyalty for the achievements and goals of the organization or business. Thus, different practices and approaches have been used and employee motivation is one of them. The more the satisfied employees, the higher would be the organizational performance. In this article, will examine different theories of motivations, how they are relevant to the workplace, and how employers can implement the theories to ensure happy and motivated employees. The paper attempts to analyze critically relating theories to organizational context and explain how people can be best motivated and encouraged retention as well as an insight of the human resource management paradigm.
