Endothelial Dysfunction and Its Correction in Patients with Essential Hypertension and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract

The article provides the results of studying the effectiveness of α-lipoic acid impact as a part of complex therapy on endothelial dysfunction in patients with essential hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus. There were revealed a significant improvement in metabolic homeostasis, decreased severity of endothelial dysfunction, reduced levels of inflammatory cytokines under additional use of α-lipoic acid compared with standard therapy.
