Endowment for Implantology: Lasers

Journal Title: Open Access Journal of Dental Sciences - Year 2016, Vol 1, Issue 1

Abstract

With dentistry in this high tech and changing era, we are fortunate to have many technological innovations to enhance and ameliorate the various treatment modalities. The archetypal of the term high tech is LASER which is an acronym and stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Its introduction to the prosthodontics and dental implantology has replaced many conventional surgical and technical procedures once thought only possible with the conventional dental drill or scalpel. This review article aims at describing the types, the expanding application and indications of the dental lasers in the field of dental implantology which provide the patient with the rigorous treatment that may minimize pain and recovery time.
