ENGLISH FOR SPECIFIC PURPOSES (ESP) APPROACH TO LANGUAGE TEACHING

Abstract
This article discusses the general overview and course design of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) in the context of ELT (English Language Teaching). In addition, this article provides a theoretical analysis of the fundamental ideas of ESP, including its definition and function as a learning approach, as well as associated topics like syllabus, learning objectives, materials, methodology, needs analysis—a fundamental component of ESP—and evaluation of ESP-based English language instruction.
