ENSURING THE PRINCIPLE OF GENDER EQUALITY IN THE PARLIAMENT: THE NEED FOR ESSENTIAL TRANSFORMATIONS

Abstract
In the article the modern problems of legislative provision of the principle of gender equality in the parliament of the country are researched. The mechanism of ensuring the principle of gender equality in foreign parliaments and Ukraine is analyzed. Attention was paid to the reform of the political system in order to ensure gender parity in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, with a division into certain stages.
