Erythrasma in clinical - laboratory material of Provincial Skin and Venereal Clinic in Kielce from 1997 to 2004

Abstract

The frequency of isolation of C. minutissimum at persons from Œwiętokrzyskie Province referred to laboratory examination in Micological Laboratory in WPSW in Kielce has been shown. Among 28 238 examined, the positive result of laboratory examination (micological and towards C. minutissimum) was observed at 9734 examined, however, C. minutissimum isolation at 199 examined people, which make up 0.7% of all examined patients 2% of people with positive results of laboratory examination altogether. The frequency of isolation of C. minutissimum in individual years of this period shows constant growing tendency, but in each time period it was higher at male patients than at female ones and at patients from cities than from the countryside. C. minutissimum was isolated at men over 20, at women over 30 from the countryside and at women from cities over the age of 50.
