Establishments of porosity model and evaluation to monitor the effect on c to ground water aquifers in port harcourt
Journal Title: Scientific Journal of Environmental Sciences - Year 2013, Vol 2, Issue 2
Abstract
Model establishment and calibration of porosity to monitor the effect of shigella migration to groundwater aquifer has been examined. These calibrations were to establish the model that will determine the influence of porosity at various depths on the migration influence of shigella in the study areas. Standard laboratory experiment was done to determine their various degree of porosity. The figures presented established the highest degree at 5 metres in Lateratic soil. Such result implies that the rate of porosity on fine and coarse formation will definitely increase the porosity rate more than what is deposited at 5 metres. The study from this dimension was able to establish a relationship between the porosity and the solute on the flow rate level on the soil, this were done through the definition of various variables and there roles in the transport of shigella on soil and water, the fluid pass through the pore space between the intercedes of the soil, so both parameters definitely has a relationship, and such relationship influence the transport of shigella in the study area.

Evaluation of photo-oxidation effect using TiO2 coated EPS (expanded polypropylene) in the stagnant stream channel
The photocatalyst is not directly applied to the water, because the form of nanoparticle. In this study, we developed a photo-oxidation ball to the improvement of water quality in stagnant water. And we used real-time mo...
Spatial distribution of soil aggregate stability (MWD) as compared to particle size distribution (PSD) using geostatistics
Soil aggregate is one of the most important soil properties governing most of the physical, chemical, hydrological and biological properties of soils. Also soil particle size distribution (PSD) is one of the fundamen...
Application of waste calcium carbonate in the tire industry
Calcium carbonate is used as inert filler in rubber industry in theproduction of tires. Calcium carbonate is abundant and inexpensive, so it iswidely used for cost reduction. Too, calcium carbonate is known as non-reinfo...
Assessment of the impact of Abiotic factors on the fish assemblages in a tropical estuary creek
Fish assemblage structures of Badagry creek, Nigeria in relation to abiotic (physical and chemical) variables were studied for 2 years period (November, 2011 – September, 2013). Environmental parameters were monitored in...
Some physical parameters of the sokoto-rima river system in north western Nigeria
Some physical parameters of water samples from Sokoto-Rima River system at the fishing site for Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival (AIFCF) were assessed to determine how they influence the water producti...
