Estimating the visibility range in the smoke created during combustion of selected wood samples

Abstract

Estimating the visibility range in the smoke created during combustion of selected wood samples. In the article we present changes in the vistibility range in the smoke created during thermal decomposition and/or combustion of selected wood samples in the premises model room-corridor. We determined critical times for the reduction of visibility range in order to assess the general conditions for safely conducting the evacuation of premises. The least danger related to smoke creation and consequently reduction of the visibility range was obtained in case of the sample of jatoba wood. On the other hand the greatest danger caused by a relatively high smoke creation level was observed in case of the sample of teak wood Keywords:
