Estudo da incidência da fusão de canais radiculares em molares inferiores, utilizando um microscópio de exploração
Journal Title: RSBO - Year 2006, Vol 3, Issue 2
Abstract
The knowledge of the root endodontic anatomy is essential to enable an adequate access, preparation and filling of the root canals and for increasing the chances of the treatment success. The aim of this study was to evaluate the anatomy of mandibular molars as for fusion or non-fusion presence between the mesial root canals by using an operating microscope. Fifty-one mandibular molars had the mesial root canals emptied, irrigated and irrigated with 1% NaOCl in all of the root canal extension. The solution was sucked at the orifice of the mesiobuccal canal. The decrease of the volume solution was observed by the operating microscope and the fusion of the mesial root canals was indicated according to the Stropko method. The incidence of the fusion was about 51% (26 samples with fusion). It was concluded that the fusion happens in the same rate of the non-fusion and it is an important anatomic result that must be considered during the biomechanical preparation and during the root canal filling.
