EVALUATION OF PROVINCES IN TURKEY ACCORDING TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT INDICATORS

Abstract
The aim of this study is to rank provinces of Turkey in terms of sustainability development between the years of 2009-2013 via indicator set considering economic, social and environmental dimensions as a whole. In this way, it is targeted to provide benefit in terms of reflecting the concept. The indicator set is composed of 51 indicators under the economic, social and environmental dimensions. Entropy method is used to determine importance degree of each indicator. The ranking of provinces in Turkey is obtained by Grey Relational Analysis technique. Provinces were ranked on the basis of grey relational degree values within determined period.
