The healthy control group comprise twentyfive healthy persons, age and sex matched to cases Result: Serum sodium was higher and serum potassium was lower in cases than control group. The mean systolic and diastolic blood pressure for hypertensive patients was 160.80+- 10.88 and 100.68+- 6.72 respectively Conclusion: Serum sodium was significantly more among hypertensives an it was independent of associated risk factor.
