EVOLUTION OF VIEWS ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PRIVATE GOALS OF BUSINESS OWNERS AND SOCIAL GOALS

Abstract
The article presents an excursion into the evolution of views on the relationship between private goals of business owners and social goals. The views of mercantilists, physiocrats, representatives of classical and neoclassical economic theory, institutionalists, etc. on the question of interaction between enterprises and the environment and the government have been considered. The contradiction between relationship of private goals of business owners and social goals in administrative and market economic systems has been determined. It has been defined that sustainable development concept promotes reasonable balance between goals of enterprise activity and social goals. As a result of the analysis, the mainstream of the process of relationship of these goals has been determined.
