Experimental Investigation of Filament Wound Pressure Vessel Subjected to Internal Pressure by Finite Element Method.
Journal Title: Scholars Journal of Engineering and Technology - Year 2013, Vol 1, Issue 4
Abstract
Composite pressure vessels are an important type of high-pressure container that is widely used in aerospace industries. When compared with isotropic materials like steel, these pressure vessels develop hoop stresses that are twice longitudinal stresses. High stiffness and low weight is the criteria for many applications, especially the applications related with fuel consumption. Fiber reinforced plastics with the specific properties of high stiffness and low weight have paved their way in the industry in implementation or their use for manufacturing different parts . The present paper Ansys 11.0 is used to investigation the better orientation and delamination of fiber by considering their deformation, strain, and shear stress for the filament wound pressure vessel.
