Experimental Investigation of Silica Fume and Steel Slag in Concrete

Journal Title: International Journal of Modern Engineering Research (IJMER) - Year 2015, Vol 5, Issue 1

Abstract

This paper gives a review on replacements in concrete made out of various industrial by-products like silica fume and steel slag in concrete Through my study a combined replacement of steel slag and silica fume in (40, 50, 60, and 70) % and (10, 15, 20, and 25) % and conduct a detailed experimental study on Compressive strength, split tensile strength, flexural strength at age of (7, 28, 56 and 90) days and durability study on acid attack was also determinedand investigates the potential use and optimum usage of steel slag and silica fume in  the production of concrete.
