Experimental investigation on the interaction between momentumless wake and rotor based on PIV

Abstract
The mixed flow field of the stator wake interaction with rotor with and without injection through a slit along the stator’s rear end was measured by PIV (particle image velocimetry). The velocity fields, velocity contours, wake excursion and velocity and vorticity map of rotor trailing edge, the spreading characteristics of the wakes across the rotor row had been gained. The interaction flow field between pure wake and rotor is compared with the flow field between momentumless wake and rotors, the results show that the momentumless wakes make the inlet flow of the rotor more uniform, improve the inlet flow angle of the rotor and weaken the wake of the rotor.
