Experimental Research for Measuring Friction Forces from Piston Sealing at the Hydraulic Cylinders
Journal Title: Tribology in Industry - Year 2014, Vol 36, Issue 4
Abstract
The article presents some aspects of developing, within INOE 2000-IHP, of an experimental research on the determination of frictional forces that occur in the mobile sealings of the pistons, between the piston sealings and the inner liner of hydraulic cylinders. In the first part of the paper, are presented some specific elements of the experimental device and of the testing stand which have been developed, while in the second part are presented some graphical results obtained in experimental research, as well as some comments on them. This developed experimental research marks the continuing of a major action on the tribological behavior of mobile hydraulic seals, which are frequently used in the construction of hydraulic cylinders.

Epoxy Resin Based Composites, Mechanical and Tribological Properties: A Review
High fuel consumption by automobile and aerospace vehicles built from legacy alloys has been a great challenge to global design and material engineers. This has called for researches into material development for the pro...
Comparative of the Tribological Performance of Hydraulic Cylinders Coated by the Process of Thermal Spray HVOF and Hard Chrome Plating
Due to the necessity of obtaining a surface that is resistant to wear and oxidation, hydraulic cylinders are typically coated with hard chrome through the process of electroplating process. However, this type of coating...
Influence of Composition of Plant Oils on Their Tribological Properties
Sunflower, corn, rapeseed, olive, and linseed oils were used for investiga-tion. Their fatty-acid compositions have been evaluated by gas chroma-tography. The tribological properties were determined with a four-ball mach...
PVD-Alumina Coatings on Cemented Carbide Cutting Tools: A Study About the Effect on Friction and Adhesion Mechanism
Crystalline PVD γ-alumina coatings are interesting for machining operations due to their outstanding characteristics, such as high hot hardness, high thermal stability and low tendency to adhesion. In the present work (T...
Application of Artificial Neural Network in Biotribological Research of Dental Glass Ceramic
A tribological system is a complex non-linear system composed of the elements that are connected structurally and functionally. The aim of this paper is to present an overview of artificial neural networks, its developme...
