Experimental research on the effect of liquid active filler on the properties of locally manufactured explosives

Abstract

Different explosives with correspondent charges constructions are used to increase the effectiveness of the explosion in the process of crushing rock masses. Therefore, the development of simple locally manufactured explosives with the different additives and formation of charges in polyethylene sleeves is topical. As a result of the experiments, it was established that the injection of a liquid sealing component in the well charge affects the properties of explosives and gives the ability to adjust a volume concentration of explosive energy. The dependency of the mixed explosive density on the content and quantity of the liquid sealing component is established that provides water resistance of the explosives. The charge with a liquid sealing component addition has a much greater capacity for work when explosion than the charge with the same explosive without additions. However, the explosives do not show the greatest efficiency when the intergranular space is completely filled.
