Experimental Research Regarding the Evolution of Some Parameters of the Superficial Layer in Low Cycle Fatigue Process
Journal Title: Analele Universitatii "Dunarea de Jos" din Galati. Fascicula IX, Metalurgie si Stiinta Materialelor - Year 2007, Vol 30, Issue 2
Abstract
The development of some mechanic engineering systems in, feasible to pressure vessels, aeronautics, ship building technology, requires a full investigation of the material features that are to be examined under a low cycles fatigue to strains close to the limit of the material elasticity. In this paper we present a testing machine at variable stresses in oligocyclic range. An own testing stand was patented by Romanian Standard Office, some results concerning the evolution of inner second order tensions, microhardness in superficial layer during low cycles fatigue process and the microscopic images of cracks, some results concerning the evolution of the crystalline lattice parameter, level of the texture were realised in steps of each two thousand cycles until a limit of 104 cycles. Two types of steel are tested.

Physico-Mechanical Characteristics of Hard Alloys Made Out of Many Carbides
The Hard alloys of type WC-TiC-Co can be used to process materials with long chips, such as steels [1]. Titanium carbide or TiC-WC solid solutions, added as alloying constituents in the compositions of WC-Co pseudo-alloy...
PhysicoMechanical and Physico-Chemical Properties of Bio-Inert Composite Ceramics
Bio-inert ceramics are non-toxic, non-allergenic and non-carcinogenic materials which explain why these are frequently used as orthopedic and dental implants. Unfortunately, these are chemically inert and do not naturall...
Study About the Perception of Producers from Romania Regarding the Ecolabel
The purpose of this paper is to obtain information about the Romanian producers’ perspective on some key elements regarding the environmental aspects of their company, data on the certification SR EN ISO 14001: 2015 and...
The Structural Design Improvement of a Twin-Hull Ship
The paper is focused on the strength analysis of the structure of twin-hull ships, particularly a passenger catamaran. Catamarans have some advantages against conventional monohulls: larger deck area and cargo volume, be...
Mathematical Model of the LD Steel Deoxidation Kinetics with Manganese and Aluminum
The paper presents the mathematical model of the kinetics of the electric arc furnace steel deoxidation with Mn and Al. Based on the solving of the kinetics model differential equations, the variation of the deoxidants s...
