Experimentation and stochastic modelling for reliability evaluation of an existing bridge
Journal Title: American journal of Engineering Research - Year 2017, Vol 6, Issue 1
Abstract
Bridge structures in the north of Algeria are at risk from aging, leading to structural deterioration from service demands from increasing traffic and heavier loads, from aggressive environmental attack and other physical mechanisms. The paper present the information from the in situ assessment of reinforced concrete structures in marine environment. The test procedure used and the results are presented. These results will serve as the basis for the application of the probabilistic model, in an attempt to evaluate the service life of these structures. In this paper the assessment of reliability profiles for reinforced concrete bridges exposed to chloride attack is discussed. The stochastic service lifetime of an existing RC highway bridge is estimated. The durability investigations of the structures are presented.

An Optimized Approach for Improving Current Sensing In Digital Wattmeters Using Rogowski Coils
A Rogowski-coil is a low cost, air cored and flexible induction sensor for non-intrusive condition monitoring and thus can be used for a variety of operations. Most digital wattmeter designs make use of current transform...
Experimental investigation of the conductor temperature of the underground cable situated in sand and pipes
The aim of this study is to present a new method for the underground cable installation. In this work, we have investigated the steady state temperature field when the underground cable 12/20 (24) KV located in three mod...
Application of Retaining Wall in the Control of Flooding and Gully Erosion
This research concerned itself with the development of an approach which can be used in the reduction of perennial problems of flooding and gully erosion. It, however, applied the retaining wall as a technological means...
Lift & Drag Reductions on Iced Wings during Take Off and Landing with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
This research paper addresses an novel problemthat has not been addressed in detail for many decades. Ice formation on aircraft has procedures and protocols to deal with expected and actual problems. Complex modern aircr...
Mechanical Properties ofPoly Lactic Acid:An Accelerated Destructive Degradation Test
Research in renewable products with the potential to replace fossilized matter as raw materials for energy and materials use is at the forefront of modern science and engineering. Materials (i.e., Poly lactic acid) have...
