Journal Title: International Research Journal of Applied and Basic Sciences - Year 2013, Vol 4, Issue 9

Abstract

The first and second languages are interrelated, and the history of the first language is a participatory factor in the acquisition of the second language and its maintenance (Houmanfar, Hayes, & Herbst, 2005). This study aims to investigate the similarities and differences between first language acquisition and second language acquisition in terms of issues such as critical period hypothesis, age, language development, affective factors, phonology, language skills, context, error correction, and input.
