EXPORT POTENTIAL OF THE MACHINE-BUILDING COMPLEX IN KHARKIV REGION OF UKRAINE IN THE CONTEXT OF CHALLENGES CAUSED BY GLOBAL COMPETITION

Abstract
The transformation of mechanisms of international competition and competitiveness significantly modify the analytical instruments and methodology of diagnostics of export potential of the machine-building complex of Ukraine in the direction of system coverage of cause-and-effect relations determining the decrease in its competitiveness.The complex analysis of the reasons and factors which caused the transformation of the machine building complex of Kharkiv region of Ukraine into the net importer of foreign mechanical and electrical products was made from the positions of system approach and multicriterion assessment. It was determined that the main reasons of the decrease of its export competitiveness were the growth of the gaps in the levels of manufacturability, diversification of the machine-building export of the region and its low infrastructural and information support.The main directions of the development of export potential of the region’s machine-building complex were substantiated. They are as follows: the increase of the export technological level on the basis of cluster organization of the machine-building; the growth of the market and product diversification of the export; the development of the system of infrastructural support of the export; the creation of the regional system of export activity information support for the regional machine-building complex.
