Factors influencing the accuracy of content determination of chlorine in biofuels and solid recovered fuels

Abstract
Various solid biofuels, produced from organic waste and solid recovered fuels made from inorganic waste are substantial in the structure of fuels used in electricity boards. High content of chlorine in such fuels has negative influence on equipment used in the combustion and on the environment, while the heterogeneity of fuels, especially solid recovered fuels, cause major difficulties in assessing the actual chlorine content in the fuels. This article presents factors hindering the determination of chlorine content in solid biofuels and solid recovered fuels, as well as it presents credible methodology of chlorine content determination in the mentioned fuels. Experimental research covered analysis of solid biofuels and solid recovered fuels Samales which differ in regard to their quality of the fuels. The research took into account the influence of diverse sample granulation and sample weight on the results of chlorine determination using various methods.
