Factors that affect the implementation of rapid prototyping in furniture design companies in Quito, Ecuador

Abstract
Factors that prevent the implementation of rapid prototyping techniques are presented that have an impact on companies dedicated to furniture design in Ecuador. To establish these factors, a field analysis was carried out in companies and people involved in the area of industrial design. A logistic regression model was developed to obtain a quantitative value to determine the feasibility of implementing rapid prototyping, as well as the influence of different factors that affect decisionmaking, the results show the existence of limiting factors for the development of this technology, in addition, the importance of its implementation within the furniture design industry is shown according to tabulations, thus demonstrating the market opportunity of this technology in Quito-Ecuador.
