Familial split–hand/foot malformation, depression and suicidality – A case report

Abstract

Familial split–hand/foot malformation (SHFM) is a rare limb deformity with a prevalence of 1:10,000-1:90,000 worldwide. The literature search did not reveal anyreport of psychiatric disorder in patient having such deformity. In this case report, we are presenting a familial SHFM, depression and suicidality. The possible genetic link between suicidality, depression and Familial split–hand/foot malformation was discussed. Keywords: Familial split–hand/foot malformation, Depression, Suicidal attempt.
