Features of Spiritual Awakening in Gardens in the Dunes

Abstract

Gardens in the Dunes is a work of spirituality. Leslie Marmon Silko does celebrate the transformative power of Mother-Earth, for it is an emblem of rejuvenation and rebirth. The present paper purports that the land-based spirituality, color symbolism, dance rituals and storytelling are features of the quest for a spiritual revival for which most characters long throughout the novel.
