FEATURES OF THE COURSE OF SEROUS MENINGITIS OF HERPETIC ETIOLOGY

Journal Title: International scientific journal Science and Innovation - Year 2025, Vol 4, Issue 1

Abstract

Meningitis is an acute inflammatory disease affecting the membranes of the brain and spinal cord. Depending on the pathogen, meningitis can be bacterial, viral, fungal, or parasitic. Among viral meningitis, serous meningitis holds a special place, most often of viral origin. One of the most dangerous and diagnostically challenging forms of serous meningitis is herpetic etiology, associated with herpesviruses such as Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), herpes simplex virus (HSV), and cytomegalovirus (CMV) [1].
