Journal Title: International scientific journal Science and Innovation - Year 2025, Vol 4, Issue 5
Abstract
Pediatric cardiovascular diseases represent a significant healthcare challenge in Uzbekistan, affecting approximately 7.8 per 1,000 children under the age of 14. The modernization of pediatric cardiac care services has become a national priority, with substantial investments in infrastructure and human resource development over the past decade. This study aims to analyze the current organizational structure of pediatric cardiac care in Uzbekistan and evaluate its effectiveness in meeting the population's needs. According to statistics from the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 97% of children born with non–critical CHD can live up to at least a year, while only 75% of children with critical complex CHD can do the same. Approximately one in 4 children with CHD has a critical form of the defect and requires qualified medical intervention.
