Female political discourse: prosodic and kinetic features

Abstract

The article aims at conducting a contrastive study of the prosodic and kinetic features of contemporary female political discourse in Latin America, Spain and Ukraine. The language material was provided by verbal presentations delivered by Hispanic female politicians Eva Perón, Cristina de Kirchner, Ana Botela, Rosa Díez González, Teresa Forcades, Esther Vivas, Josefina Vázquez Mota, as well as Ukrainian female politicians Anna German, Iryna Farion, Natalia Korolevskaya and Yulia Tymoshenko.
