Festiwal Muzyki Filmowej w Krakowie w latach 2008–2011

Abstract
This article takes a closer look at the origins and proceedings of a cultural event, which is Film Music Festival in Kraków. Research covers the yearly events from 2008–2011. Based on the example of this Festival, the author shows the meaning of film music as a product created from peoples' need of music. It also looks into the festival music market more in depth, shows the need to create such events containing soundtracks and film music. The centre of his attention is howev- er, the way that teach event is run year by year specifically an analysis of the line up. He also adds a short historical timeline of film music, starting from silent cinema though to a period called “Golden Age” up until modern film music.
