Financial Innovation and Financial Performance in Financial Institutions in Uganda

Abstract
Abstract:This study investigates the influence of financial innovation on financial performance in financial institutions in Uganda during 2008-2014. Financial innovation dimensions examined included product innovation, process innovation, client mix innovation, distribution channel innovation and innovation culture. Financial performance was measured using ROA and ROE. To accomplish the research objectives, the quantitative research method (questionnaire and secondary data) was adopted. The data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20 in which correlation and multiple regression analyzes were performed. Results showed that the relationship between financial innovation and financial performance is positive (r = 0.1397, p = 0.0514).
