Finite element modeling and analytical solution of a semi-elliptic crack’s J integral
Journal Title: Recueil de mécanique - Year 2017, Vol 2, Issue 1
Abstract
In this work, we first evaluate the J-integral rupture parameter as a function of various crack parameters (crack size, rod dimensions, intensity and nature of loads) for various crack form. In a second step, and in the base of the results obtained by the finite element method, we propose formulas of the factor shape, whose implementation remains rather simple and inexpensive in terms of time, effort and means to the engineer in order to predict evolution of the rupture behavior of a cylindrical component with a semielliptical crack emerging from the surface. The comparison of the proposed analytical solution showed a good performance relatively with results of the literature.

Characterization of crack parameters by the approach of virtual strain gages using a SENT specimen
The main objective of this work is to highlight the effectiveness of a numerical method proposed for the evaluation of the stress intensity factor (CIF), T-stress and the biaxiality parameter β, using virtual strain gage...
Definition and prediction of thermal state of cylinder assembly of an internal combustion engine: a new methodology
This study deal with a new approach for the definition and prediction of the thermal state of internal combustion engine elements. In this paper, it is well elaborated for diesel engine cylinder liner. The scientific inn...
Theoretical and experimental investigation of on glass solar still
This paper presents a theoretical and experimental work performed on a glass solar still. The solar distiller under study was fabricated with cheap glass and the polyethylene as absorber, and was tested under the climati...
Study of aerosol deposition in 90° bend turbulent flow using Lagrangian RANS approach
This work presents a numerical study of turbulent flow of a gas loaded with particles with various diameters in a 90° bend. This study can be an effective way to predict the dispersion and deposition of aerosol in transp...
Analysis numerical of one-dimensional heat transfer for desert house
The main objective of this work is to study the thermal exchanges in order to optimize the solar contributions in a habitable enclosure located in a desert region of Algeria (ADRAR). The enclosure walls are the only capa...
