Five-dimensional model of well-being: The validity and reliability of Turkish version of PERMA-Profiler

Journal Title: The Journal of Happiness and Well-Being - Year 2017, Vol 5, Issue 1

Abstract

The aim of this study was to examine validity and reliability of Turkish version of PERMA-Profiler. The sample of this study consisted of 253 university students. The results of confirmatory factor analysis demonstrated that first and second order model was well fit. Factor loadings ranged between .42 and .89. The internal consistency reliability coefficient of the scale was calculated as .91. The internal consistency reliability coefficient of the subcsales ranged between .61 and .81. Also, test-retest reliability coefficient was found as .81. The test-retest reliability coefficient of the subcsales ranged between .61 and .85. The corrected item-total correlations ranged between .32 and .70. The positive correlations among PERMA-Profiler, life satisfaction and subjective happiness could be taken as evidence for the criterion-related validity of the PERMA-Profiler. These results revealed that PERMA-Profiler is a valid and reliable scale, and can be used in scientific studies in Turkey.
